Rep. Hans Zeiger, R-Puyallup, has received the Guardian of Small Business award from the National Federation of Independent Business, recognizing his work on small business issues.
Ten key votes lawmakers took over the two-year legislative cycle were graded by the NFIB. An 80 percent or higher voting record supporting small business owners earned lawmakers the vote.
“I am honored to receive this award, but I feel we have a lot of work to do to make our state small business-friendly and provide our small businesses some certainty and stability,” Zeiger said.
Small businesses represent about 98 percent of all employers and employ more than 53 percent of the private-sector labor force in Washington, according to the NFIB.
