Student musician to perform at First Christian

Mariah Katzberg, a saxophonist from Puyallup High School, has been selected as the annual Lovezzola Music Award recipient. She will perform “Diversion” by Bernard Heiden with the Puyallup Valley Community Band at 7:30 p.m. on May 16 at the First Christian Church of Puyallup. Those attending the free program are encouraged to donate to the Oso mudslide relief effort.

Alternate runner-up winners of the award were Bobby Odle, marimba, and Morgan Thelford, saxophone. Both students attend Graham-Kapowsin High School.
