LoganFest to help student with disorder

May 7, 2014

Kalles Junior High School plans to host its seventh annual LoganFest on May 16-18, which aims to raise money to aid ninth-grader Calin Turner, who was recently diagnosed with a rare immune system disorder.

LoganFest offers a three-on-three basketball tournament for elementary, junior high and high school/adult brackets. A 5K fun run will also take place for all ages Sunday, May 18, with a 7:30-8 a.m. check-in. Cost of entry for the fun run is $15. Registration cost for elementary and junior high basketball teams are $60 and $100 for high school/adult teams. It’s recommended that teams have four players. Each team will be guaranteed to play at least four games. Registration deadline is May 15. To be guaranteed a T-shirt, teams must register today.

For more information, call the Kalles main office during school hours at 253-841-8729. LoganFest has raised more than $60,000 during the past six years to help people pay for the cost of medical conditions.
