For years, Sumner has worked to bring a YMCA to the area. Community supporters wore T-shirts and stickers that said “Jobs Now” because we believed a new YMCA was more than just good for our health, it would be good for the economy.
I’m happy to say those jobs are real. I would like to thank the YMCA for already using local businesses to start work on site.
Mayor Dave Enslow and community leader Kathy Hayden were at every hearing, championing the cause, trying to bring the YMCA and jobs to the area. They deserve our thanks.
For years, Nancy Dumas appeared at the same public hearings, working against the YMCA at every turn. And when it came time to put up or shut up, both council members Dumas and Randy Hynek voted against the YMCA.
My family and my business can’t afford four more years of Hynek with Dumas at the helm.
If you want the YMCA, vote to re-elect Enslow for mayor and Hayden for city council.
