Karen Edwards is the best pick for Puyallup schools.
As a former Puyallup School Board director, I know what it takes to serve our community.
Edwards, a mother of two and an Army veteran, has all the qualities of an honorable and dedicated public servant. She has shown her dedication to our children through her work as a classroom volunteer, PTA board member and Puyallup co-op board member.
Karen is the only candidate for position No. 4 who attended school board meetings before she declared her candidacy. She has experience with reaching out to various groups and creating partnerships through her professional grant management work with the University of Washington Medical Center.
She is serious about serving our community, and she knows what the position requires. She has already shown that she has what it takes by talking and listening to voters at their doors, at public events and at community meetings.
She is the only candidate for this position who attended the community meeting at Edgemont Junior High and took a stand with the parents to change the district’s International Baccalaureate proposal to reflect the concerns of the Edgemont parents.
Along with my endorsement, Karen has the endorsement of The News Tribune and many local teachers. She will continue to work hard for our community and our children as a Puyallup School Board director.
