Puyallup police notify public of level 3 sex offender

The HeraldOctober 28, 2013

Kevin Wayne Houser, age 26, a Level 3 registered sex offender, recently notified the Pierce County Sheriff's Department that he is living in the 1200 block of W. Stewart in the City of Puyallup.

As a Level 3 registered sex offender, Houser is required to check in every 90 days with the Sheriff's department. Sex offender laws allow for the tracking of sexual offenders. It does not, however, control the location of where an offender chooses to live.

In 2002, Houser was convicted of child molestation 1st degree.

Houser was initially resistant to the Sex Offender Treatment Program while he was incarcerated and refused to participate. He has since participated in a community based treatment program. He  is no longer under probation or parole supervision.

Houser is a 6 foot 4 inch white male weighing at 220 pounds. Hair is brown and eyes are brown.

Houser is not wanted for any current offense.

The Puyallup Police Department has provided this notification under the Sex Offender Notification Act to alert the public to a convicted sex offender that has a potential to re-offend. This notification is not provided as punishment for the offender, and any criminal action by anyone as retribution toward the offender will be investigated by the Puyallup Police Department.

Should anyone have questions about this bulletin, or about the Sex Offender Registration Act, they are asked to call Detective T. Miniken at 253-841-5527.
