Puyallup police report to robbery incident

At 9 a.m. Thursday morning, Oct. 24, the Puyallup Police Department responded to a reported residential burglary at 3rd St. N.W. and 5th Ave. N.W.

When the male suspect was reported, he fled to an second story apartment above a residential home, believed to be his apartment.

Captain Scott Engle, police spokesman, said the suspect as of 12:30 p.m. was still held up in his apartment, believed to be armed with a rifle.

The Metro SWAT Team are on site. There have been no injuries to anyone and no suspected hostages.

"We've been trying to attempt communication with him," Engle said.
