It’s time to elect a positive candidate with a can-do spirit to the Puyallup City Council. We have the opportunity to do just that by voting for Julie Door for the District 3 seat.
Door has a proven record of bringing together citizens and officials to solve problems and will bring a much-needed breath of fresh air to our council.
As mentioned in her endorsement from The News Tribune, in part, “She played a key role in the city’s halfway house issue and was instrumental in passage of legislation placing conditions on housing vouchers for released felons” (Oct. 17, 2013).
As a business owner, she understands the importance of fiscal responsibility and budgeting. Although this would be Door’s first elected office, community service is not new to her. She is a longtime volunteer with the American Cancer Society, and she and her husband annually host toy, coat, school supply and food drives to benefit those in need. Door also volunteers and supports our seniors and the Puyallup Activity Center.
Door grew up in Puyallup and has a deep love for our city. As a mom of two, she also understands the importance of maintaining our library, parks and recreation programs. She will be able to work constructively with our council members on behalf of our town.
Her practical, energetic spirit is exactly what we need, and Door will be a tremendous voice for District 3.
