Rogers High School senior soccer player Payton O’Neil wasn’t satisfied with her performance last year after she scored just five goals.
She doesn’t expect a repeat this fall.
“I want to step it up a lot more,” O’Neil said. “I did a lot better my sophomore year, and then last year was a down year for me. I’m trying to pick it back up.”
O’Neil primarily will play outside midfielder and forward for the Rams.
“Outside midfielder is very (tiring) at times, but I would rather be out there than in the middle of the field, where it’s all claustrophobic,” she said. “I like having my space on the outside.”
The Rams’ players believe in head coach Moe Orcutt.
“He is a pretty good coach,” O’Neil said. “He knows what he is talking about all the time, and he always knows what is best for the team.”
The Herald recently asked O’Neil a few questions about her life away from the soccer field:
The Herald: What is your favorite movie of all time?
