Cascade Christian Cougars senior boys basketball player Jonathan Felczak wasn’t fazed by what his team faced in the Class 1A boys basketball state tournament in Yakima this past weekend.
Felczak knew just going to the tournament wasn’t going to be good enough.
“Just getting there isn’t acceptable. We want to win it all. This is big, no doubt about it,” Felczak said before the tourney began. “We’ve been working hard every single day in practice. We know it’s a process and if we play like we practice, we will be fine.”
Recently I had an opportunity to ask Felczak a few questions about his life away from the hardwood.
Shaun Scott: What is your favorite movie of all time?
Jonathan Felczak: “Dumb and Dumber.” That movie just cracks me up and is my kind of movie.
SS: Where do you see yourself in five years?
JF: Graduated from college and hopefully testing locally to be a firefighter.
SS: What is the last book you’ve read?
JF: “Playing for Pizza.” It’s about a guy playing football in Italy.
SS: What is your favorite television show of all time?
JF: “Seinfeld.” The comedy of that show was so sophisticated. I used to have a poster of Kramer on the wall.
SS: What is your favorite restaurant in Puyallup?
JF: The Olive Garden. The breads sticks and salad are incredible.
SS: Who is your favorite singer of all time?
JF: Taylor Swift. I went to one of her concerts with Ben Johnson (former Cascade Christian Cougars quarterback).
