Editorial: Puyallup is ahead of the curve with new playground

Published: May 28th, 2008 02:54 PM

Puyallup city officials should take a moment to pat themselves on the back. It is with great planning and foresight that the city will have one of the few all-accessible playgrounds in the state.

That’s something to be proud of.

The new playground, with its smoother surface and adapted play equipment, will help not only children in wheelchairs but Good Samaritan Hospital points out that it could be beneficial for grandparents who can’t navigate other playgrounds.

It has taken three years of planning, with the help of an active community member. The result: A playground that includes everyone.
